Bumblebee and his team of Autobots have one mission: to capture the Decepticons that are loose on earth whilst remaining in disguise from humans. Based on the series, these TRANSFORMERS Robots-in-Disguise Hyperchange Heroes figures can change between modes in 3 smooth steps and 1 seamless sequence! Effortless convert between modes so you’re never out of the action!

Fun Laser Tag Games at Laser Warzone

Foster teamwork and cooperation among kids with this indoor activity.
laser-warzone-logo

If you’re a fan of “How I Met Your Mother” TV series, you’ve most likely heard about laser tag several times from Barney Stinson. He’s obsessed with this sport and plays aggressively against kids in a laser tag arena. I’ve watched a few episodes (my husband loves this show but, parents, take note that this is not recommended for young kids due to some topics and content) and Barney would often mention laser tag. My fave quotes:
“I should be out playing laser tag, being awesome.”
“A few final thoughts, don’t get married until you’re thirty. Play laser tag once a week.”

I’m not surprised why Barney loves laser tag. I often see lots of kids and adults forming teams, lining up at Laser Warzone at e@Curve on weekends. It must be something fun and exciting. It’s amazing to see that there’s such a game enjoyed by both young ones and grown-ups. I learned that even corporate companies organize team-building activities with laser tag!

Laser tag is an easy game to play. If you’re familiar with paintball then laser tag is a technology-based version of that and without the pain. If you are more familiar with PC/video games that involve shooting then laser tag is an interactive version where you get to engage with your teammates and opponents on a personal level. You strategize and plan directly with other people or kids then go to battle together physically. It makes game play more fun!

Laser Warzone is a great place to play laser tag. It is well-known for friendly staff, weekend/holiday activity, birthday/corporate parties and has 3 arenas in various locations: e@Curve in Petaling Jaya, Wangsa Walk Mall in Kuala Lumpur and Gurney Plaza in Penang.

The branch in Petaling Jaya is conveniently located at the first floor of e@Curve, just right next to The Curve shopping mall, perfect location for the entire family to hang out, shop and have dinner afterwards. Corporate events and birthday parties are often celebrated here as well. Laser Warzone has a party room where you can plan for almost any theme in mind. Boys and girls alike enjoy birthday celebrations here because they have a big room all to themselves and, of course, they can play laser tag during the celebration. Laser Warzone can assist to plan the event from concept to  activity. The party room in e@Curve has enough space for up to 100 guests.

My son had 2 birthday parties at Laser Warzone and we plan to do it here again this year. It’s great for him and his friends to hang out and play while we, parents, either wait in the party room or better yet, go around shopping! It’s in a shopping mall after all! My husband is the one in-charge of looking after him during my son’s game sessions with friends.

The suit and laser gun make a really awesome gear pack. Kids love it! No wonder Barney Stinson says it’s awesome!

Each laser tag game can have up to 10 players divided into 2 teams or they can also choose to play solo, which means each player is battling against everyone. Most kids enjoy playing in teams because it involves planning and teamwork. They huddle and plan their strategy together, and it does involve more fun to engage in a battle as a gang!

This game is perfect for the entire family, well for kids around 6 years old and above, as long as they are big enough to wear the gear. Just look at this father with his daughters!

Laser tag is a great activity for kids and adults. Visit a Laser Warzone arena and try it out. After all, it’s always a good time to be awesome!

Claim your Rewards now with ShopBack and Hermo Malaysia

shopback-cashback-rewards-shopping-online

I kept hearing about ShopBack from my gorgeous Head of Digital Marketing named Rowena (Haha! Sorry, Rowena, if you’re reading this, I can’t help but mention your name…see, I don’t ignore what you’re talking about.) Being an online shopper like me, although maybe not as notorious, she enjoys discovering great ways to be rewarded from spending online. Since I keep hearing about ShopBack, I knew I just had to investigate.

What are the usual online sites that you shop from? I’m a beauty junkie but my shopping needs are not limited to beauty sites alone. I do look for device and gadgets, kids stuff, health products, flights, accommodations, stock shots and more. Name an online site and I’ve probably shopped there! To name a few:

  • 11street
  • Agoda
  • AirAsia
  • Amazon
  • Dreamstime
  • eBay
  • FoodPanda
  • GemFive
  • Groupon
  • Guardian
  • HappyFresh
  • Hermo
  • Hermo
  • Lazada
  • MySale
  • Sephora
  • Shutter stock
  • Signature Snack
  • Watsons
  • Wine Talk
  • Zalora

I spent time today checking the site and exploring what ShopBack does. The concept is pretty simple and amazing: shop online with ShopBack stores and get cashback rewards through your ShopBack account, which are then transferred to your preferred bank account. With whatever value you spend, based on each store’s ShopBack offer, you get rewards! This cashback site gives you savings online!

shopback-cashback-rewards-shopping-online

It’s easy to earn money back. From the long list of available stores at ShopBack, I’d say it’s impossible for a lot of us not to find at least 10 brands or stores to shop from. After you’ve created a ShopBack account, simply click on the store that you want to shop from, ensure that you shop on that URL so ShopBack can track your purchase, proceed with your purchase on that store and that’s it! You can check your ShopBack rewards within 4 – 48 hours.

shopback-cashback-rewards-shopping-online

Discover how to get started with this video:

I’ve checked 2 online beauty sites: Hermo and Sephora (but of course!). Hermo gives customers up to 5.6% cashback. If you’re an existing customer, you get 4.2% cashback while a new customer gets 5.6%. You can enjoy cashback with the latest Hermo voucher easily through ShopBack. Some of the beauty brands you can shop for at Hermo are Acca Kappa, B.liv, Bioderma, Clinelle, Cyber Colors, Dr. Wu, Garnier, H2O+, Kate, Kose, L’Oreal, Laneige, Lierac, Physiogel, Talika and The Face Shop.

This is a great time to earn cashback from Hermo, look at the collection they recently featured. It’s Disney’s Alice in Wonderland beauty collection!

shopback-hermo-malaysia-alice-in-wonderland

Hermo has regular deals, it’s best to check on your favorite products and brands from time to time.

shopback-hermo-malaysia-beauty-makeup

Sephora is also one of the numerous stores with ShopBack rewards. New customers get 8.0% cashback, existing customers get 2.0%. Oh man, all the rewards I’ve missed from my Sephora shopping! Great brands from Sephora include Benefit Cosmetics, Burberry, Clinique, Caudalie, Dr. Jart, Ecotools, GlamGlow, Julie Hewett, Lancome, REN, Sigma Beauty, SK-II, Too Faced, Urban Decay and Zoeva. I’m a fan of makeup brushes from Zoeva and Sigma Beauty, I buy them from Sephora online (previously Luxola). I should have been shopping with ShopBack where you can also find the best Sephora coupons

shopback-sephora-beauty-shopping

Now I’m wishing that I listened to Rowena a lot earlier. I could have collected more rewards from my online shopping sprees! Why why why didn’t I pay attention long time ago?

Start getting rewarded through ShopBack and collect money back from shopping. Make the most out of your dollars / ringgit by getting rewards.

Hasbro: TRANSFORMERS 7-in- 1 Combiner Wars (Menasor) Collection Set

You haven’t seen the coolest TRANSFORMERS toy until you see this!

transformers-menasor-toy

The TRANSFORMERS is truly a timeless toy concept that evolved into movies, various merchandise, TV shows and more. With the epic TRANSFORMERS movies, it has become even more unforgettable and more loved by kids and adults of all ages and genders. How can anyone not find it cool to have vehicles that can transform into a robot?

If a vehicle that transforms into a robot is cool, wouldn’t it be awesome to have 6 cars that transform into robots and even be combined into a big one? Say hello to TRANSFORMERS Combiner Wars! My son is so lucky to have one of those bots, the incredible 7-in-1 TRANSFORMERS Combiner Wars (Menasor) Collection Pack by Hasbro Toy Malaysia.

Any child who sees the gigantic box will get excited. In fact, even my husband wanted it. Wait, even I want it! Don’t tell my son but I play with these figures when he’s sleeping, bwahahaha!

What’s in the box:
  • 6 Figures – each one converts from robot to vehicle mode and back
  • 7 Accessories
  • 1 Poster
  • 1 Collector Card
  • 1 Instruction sheet

Who are inside the box:
  1. MotormasterTM – Motormaster punishes enemies and allies alike with the brute force of a tyrant.
  2. DragstripTM – To Dragstrip, victory means power, and second place is as good as a place on the scrap heap.
  3. Dead EndTM – He’s convinced the end of the universe is right around the corner, and he’s going out with his blasters blazing.
  4. BreakdownTM – Breakdown’s paranoia about being seen actually makes him a formidable scout.
  5. Brake-NeckTM – Brake-Neck has no respect for the rules of the road, or anything on it.
  6. BlackjackTM – This clever warrior calculates the odds and hatches his plan before moving into action.

Combine all 6 of them to form a massive, unstoppable Menasor figure!

Witnessing your child’s happiness is priceless. The moment I stepped through the house door carrying this box of wonder and colour, he already got excited. He didn’t assume that it was his; he actually thought that it was mine. Haha! You can just imagine how happy and delighted he was when I told him that the toy was for him.
transformers-menasor-toy-and-boy

The 6 figures, like the bestselling TRANSFORMERS toys, are convertible from robot to vehicle and back. My son loves them in vehicle mode but he finds joy in the “transforming” function of these toys. Whether it’s a Deception or an Autobot, he just loves these vehicles!

transformers-menasor-toy-trucks

The robots in this Menasor set are characters that we haven’t seen in the movies (yet) but I think they are a kickass bunch. My favorite in this pack is Brake-Neck because of his beautiful sports car mode and his cool face. This figure takes only 11 steps to convert from vehicle to robot and back. Around 14cm tall in robot mode.

transformers-menasor-toy-yellow-car
transformers-menasor-toy-yellow-car

The biggest robot in the pack is Motormaster who converts into a truck and also forms the face of Menasor. This one takes only 10 steps to shift between modes, robot is around 20cm tall. We haven’t tried combining all of them together yet. My son is still enjoying the toys as separate figures.

transformers-menasor-toy-motor-master

Dragstrip is a blue, black and yellow colour combination open-wheel racing car. This only takes 9 steps to convert. Around 13cm tall in robot mode.

The second figure that I like is Dead End, a red sports car with a yellow face. What’s not to like about the cool colour, awesome car mode and fighter robot mode? This one takes 11 steps to convert. Around 14cm tall in robot mode.

Breakdown is another racing car that comes in purple and aqua green color. He carries a red sword and has a serious face similar to Brake-Neck. This takes 12 steps to convert. Same height as Dead End and Brake-Neck at 14cm tall.

transformers-menasor-toy-breakdown
transformers-menasor-toy

The smallest one in this pack is Blackjack who’s only almost half of Motormaster. It is the fastest to convert at 7 steps. It turns into a 2-door purple sports car with cool blue highlights. Around 10cm tall in robot mode.

transformers-menasor-toy-robot
transformers-menasor-toy-car

It’s pretty amazing how a 6-year-old kid can easily play with these figures. He was able to follow most of the instructions, just needed a little bit of help with Dragstrip and Dead End. There are only 7 – 12 steps to follow in converting the cars to robots; quite fast and easy.

Let’s play TRANSFORMERS Combiner Wars! You can grab the Combiner Wars toys sets at Toys “R” Us at RM529.90

My little boy balancing on a yoga ball
My 6-year-old son has been attending classes at BrainFit Studio for 4 sessions and it has been a great experience. You can check my first article about BrainFit here

The sessions are a routine of around 10 different exercises but each session is intensified with more challenging steps, aiming to increase efficiency of the activity.

The objective of these activities is to improve various skills:
  • Focus and organisation
  • Rhythm and timing
  • Learning speed
  • Body and spatial awareness
  • Advance visual skills
  • Gross and fine motor skills
  • Confidence
  • Handwriting & copying
  • Learning speed and abilities
  • Focus and attention
  • Visual perception and memory
  • Accuracy in detailed work
  • Visual spatial awareness and organization
  • Attention and concentration
  • Ability to stay on task
  • Attention stamina
  • Impulse control

See some of the actual activities in action here:

Another great thing with BrainFit is that each child gets full attention from the trainer and gets evaluated on a personal level. The trainers adjust the activity based on the learning pattern and speed of the child. This means personalised learning pace for children, allowing them to discover their potentials without feeling left behind if they are slower than others. Isn’t it great? This means children will be confident and happier with their environment.

My son is enjoying his classes at BrainFit. He loves meeting other children, making new friends and doing activities with them. What improvements have I seen in him? His physical exercises has improved his coordination skills. He’s more confident than ever to explore different tools to write or draw. He has even began to use ballpoint pen and liner pen to draw figures such as cars, trucks and scenes. This is his own initiative and he’s happy to explore his own skills. I don’t think I’ve used ballpoint pen to write before I was 8 years old and my son is already using it to draw at the age of 6! This needs precise control compared with pencils. It’s great to see him enjoy this skill.

Great Experiences Ahead at Little Kingdom

You and your kids are in for a joyous adventure.
yummy-looking-cakes-at-little-kingdom

Yummy cakes! Would you believe that these are just deco?

When was the last time you visited Maju Junction or Jalan Sultan Ismail? If it was more than 3 months ago, now’s the perfect time to walk along this busy, lively street in Kuala Lumpur. Coming from Cheras, my son and I decided to take a train ride instead of driving down. Aside from it’s much faster than driving to town, my son enjoys train rides. Ah, convenience, speed and my son’s joy, a train ride to Maju Junction is perfect. Did I mention that the trip only costed RM5.20 two-way?

The trip from Cheras to Sultan Ismail station was fast, roughly 15 minutes on a Saturday morning. From the station, there’s a walkway leading directly to the entrance of Parkson Maju Junction. Very convenient. The guard is friendly and showed me the way to go up to Level 3, where an amazing experience awaits me and my little naughty boy at Little Kingdom.

A magical-themed play land boasting of 40,000 sq.ft., Parkson Edutainment’s Little Kingdom is a first-of-its-kind personalised learning edutainment park. It’s a place where kids and parents experience various realities, from fairy tales to space missions. This play land features technology games, Amazon rides, magical shows, learning workshops and beautiful classrooms that children will enjoy.

Upon entering this kingdom, you’ll immediately feel the “magic”. Here’s my naughty boy wanting to eat that giant red mushroom.

Visitors are welcomed by cobblestone streets, miniature shops with bright signages, colourful walls and dramatic lighting.

There are giant, adorable fairy tale books on the streets, stories like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Aladdin and the Little Racing Car. No, these are not for reading but for making the place even more magical and, I guess, for hugging!

Little Kingdom has a magical stage where performances are held everyday. We caught a magic show performance, which kids truly enjoyed.

Why it’s great to spend time at Little Kingdom:

1. It’s accessible by car and train. You can choose to drive over, use Uber or Grab, or like me, I prefer to use train! Very fast.

2. At every corner of the theme park are cartoon characters to welcome everyone. You’ll see Little Snow White, Little Pinocchio, Little Tinkerbell, Little Aladdin and more.

3. Augmented Reality Tech allows children to be transported into another world. Perfect for those who love gadget play.

4. Indoor Sandplay Zone allows children to exercise sensory skills and creativity within a 500-sqft play area.

5. Lots of educational games and activities. The kingdom has 6 themed classrooms where everyone can experience a variety of enrichment classes such as music, aerobics, Lego lessons, arts and crafts, storytelling and more. These classes are conducted daily so you can freely visit on a day suitable to you and there will always be several classes to choose from. Wonderful!

6. Personalised Learning Options. You can choose for your child to learn more activities such as piano, vocal, guitar, culinary arts, languages, speech, drama, ballet, martial arts or even yoga.

7. Little Kingdom encourages parent and child bonding. Parents can freely join their kids in every activity. My son’s favourite was Fantasy Driving, he’s just addicted to cars, trucks, trains or anything that runs on wheels. A great thing about this activity is that parents can join their kids in the car. Yay, I can fit!

8. Its Magical Castle is also an awesome venue for events, parties and special occasions. This hall is just like a palace ballroom where kings, queens, princes and princesses host a ball. See this armed guard and his magnificently detailed shield?

9. It’s endless fun in here, the kids wouldn’t want to leave!

10. Affordable prices. By the way, Little Kingdom is having its Soft Opening Tickets Promotion this month = Get 50% OFF on single entry admission tickets!

You know what, I don’t think 1 article is enough to talk about everything in this kingdom. I haven’t even talked about  the upcoming addition to the Little Kingdom family, Talking Tom House, where children can have ‘personalised meals’ by an in-house dietician.
